National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP)
Nurse Aide Students who want to become certified as a CNA in the State of TX must challenge and pass the CNA Certification Exam. The
written and oral are administered on the same day, and you need to successfully pass both parts, in order to be certified.
You will know your result the same day, remember to bring your Social Security Card and any form of ID e.g. State ID, Passport to the testing
site, without any of those identification you wont be legible to take the exam. you will need to call and reschedule your test.
To become listed in the Texas Nurse Aide Registry. The CNA certification exam is designed to evaluate the knowledge, skills and abilities
required to safely perform the job of a nursing assistant.
How do I become a certified nurse aide (CNA) in Texas?

Successfully complete a state-approved Nurse Aide Training at B & M Career Institute.
•
Successfully complete the competency evaluation program examination.
•
Be at least 16 years of age
•
Have completed 8th grade
•
Pass a drug test
•
Photo ID and Social Security
